The ABC's of 1st Grade
Attendance is very important! If your child misses school, please remember to write a note or call the office telling why your child was
absent.
Backpacks are a must for all students. Remember to always check your child's backpack everyday.
Communication is important. Feel free to contact me whenever you have a question or concern.
Dismissal begins each day at 4:15. If your child’s dismissal routine is going to be different than normal (for example, if your child usually rides a bus and you are going to pick them up by car) you must notify the office by 2:30 or send a note in your child’s daily agenda/folder. Please include in the note whether or not it is a permanent change or "for that day only". For their own safety, we will not take the word of
students.
Every child is expected to do their personal best.
Fire drills are held on a monthly basis throughout the year. All students will participate and are expected to walk quickly and quietly to their designated exit. We will practice and become familiar with procedures before our first scheduled drill.
We will have GYM each week. Tennis shoes are required for gym class.
Students will have Homework every night to go along with what we are learning in school. Homework needs to be completed nightly and
returned to school!
It is Important to keep all records current. If you move or get a new phone number, please be sure to inform the school.
Joyful celebrations-Cupcakes or cookies can be sent for your child's birthday and they will be shared during lunchtime. No cakes please!
The Keys to a successful school year include good communication between home and school, a positive attitude, homework turned in on time and good attendance.
We will have Library each week! The students will get to check out a library book to take home to read. Please make sure to have your child return their book to school.
Money is difficult for a child to keep track of. All money sent to school should be in a sealed envelope with your child's name and the teacher's name.
Notes -Please put all notes for the teacher in your child's agenda/folder. Be sure to check the agenda/folder each night for notes from the teacher.
